The entire University squad was out, with the exception of Kersburg, who was given a day's rest on account of a cold. In the preliminary work Coach Reid and Burr punted to the backs for about 15 minutes in order to give them confidence while playing in the backfield, and practice in blocking off tacklers. During the past week the practice of the University football squad has been secret and many of the graduate coaches have returned to help in the development of the team. Several of the regular men were on the side lines during the early part of the week, but the team was in good shape for Saturday's game with West Point.
