Klein, ex-Roman Catholic and longtime Secularist, filled the bill for the parent: her 17-year-old daughter Gloria was a student at the Hawthorne High School. Donald R. Leading the secularist opposition was the United Workers Party (Israel's second largest) which insists on complete separation of church and state.
