Berrocal's sculptures are more than ingenious gadgets. Currently on display at Manhattan's Loeb and Krugier Gallery, they are handsome works of art, rich in double-entendres about the literary and legendary characters that they portray. She's petulant and funny as the latter, but too timid and line-swallowing as the former. She should go at being a scatterbrained maid and occasional seductress with the assurance she displays as a bitching second lead...
