...more enduring in value would be a vigorous campaign, on the part of those interested in the Library, to put an end to the unexplained disappearance of books. The enjoyment of the Union Library is remarkably unrestricted, and for the benefit of those who appreciate its freedom it would seem best for the Union to ferret out and punish the offenders...

...problem seems to be narrowing down pretty much to a question of the development of a fast, scrappy centare, a reliable right tackle and the improvement of the ends. The candidates for end are better than for several years back, but they seem to be almost uniformly show at following the ball. That there will be all varieties of the new football played on Soldiers Field this fall is already apparent from the few games played and it is safe to assume than the possibilities of the eleven will be fully developed along these lines...

...sufficient hardship for the large crowd always attendant upon a Saturday game to cross the river within the narrow palings of the bridge; but when several automobiles and carriages pass over at the same time, but in the opposite direction, insult is indeed added to injury. Although the University football squad has been practicing now for 10 days, it is still impossible to pick even the probable 11 men who will play against Yale. Kennard and Macdonald, both of whom played in the Yale game last year, seem to be the leading candidates for end, with M. C. Peirce and Bird the first substitutes. The tackle positions are very uncertain. There is some talk of shifting W. Peirce to guard, to fill the place left vacant by Kersburg. In that case the best men for tackle would be Inches, Robinson, Hoar or H. C. Blanchard. Burr...
