...Touch football, so far as I have been able to find out, seems to have originated within the last five years at preparatory schools. Comparatively few men in the graduate schools seem to be familiar with the game, whereas all the undergraduate students seem to know it. Next season, when the graduate departments enter more teams, the original league will undoubtedly have to be divided into several others...

Oddly enough, the Venice of the seventeenth century and America of our own time, seem to have many points of similarity. It was vastly entertaining to find, in reading the old comedies, that the authors were using the same tricks, the same jokes, as are common in our vaudeville, burlesque, and musical shows. Business which we associate with Chaplin, Jolson, Tinney, Bobby Clark, Fannie Brice, and the Four Marx Brothers, was invented by the Harlequins and Sganarellos of the Venetian comedy; subjects which are treated in full page advertisements today, were touched off in light repartee on the trestles...

...audience at the Park, most of whom never saw the inside of the Repertory, loved Peg almost as much as her nursery mates at the Repertory used to, which would seem to assure Miss Entwistle of a long career and a merry one, with IT safely in her possession. That she has sex appeal, which cries out even above the saccharine mouthings of Tommy, is evident. It is only to be prayed that her advent to Broadway in a nice sweet, sticky little homey comedy won't sentence her to the sugar bowl for life...
