...retread of the original series, the new film works under the premise that the show was cancelled, leaving Rocky and Bullwinkle in the real world, looking for work. They suddenly have a chance to save the day when diabolical Fearless Leader (De Niro) and his henchmen, Boris (Alexander of Seinfeld) and Natasha (Rene Russo) manage to escape into flesh and blood bodies and plot to take over the world. The script promises to be filled with the same kind of sly pop-culture references and parodies that made the original show such a cult favorite. The preview looks amusing...

...turns out most of the other Principals for a Day were famous, like Diane Sawyer and Jerry Seinfeld, so I think the kids and teachers were disappointed they got me. At one point the librarian asked me if I ever got bylines in TIME. I dug several issues out of her shelves and pointed to my articles ("If not for me, people would think Sisqo wears a thong"). Forget the Fulbright and the Rhodes. In years to come, the most prestigious scholarship will surely be the Seinfeld. Participating in a program known as Principal for a Day at La Guardia High School in New York City last week, the comedian announced that the JERRY SEINFELD Family and Scholarship Foundation would pay tuition and expenses for five of the school's seniors to attend college next year.
