...come up with the lyrics first and say, "I'm writing a song about this"? Yeah. We all live in different cities, so what we'll do is, I'll e-mail them lyrics, and we'll send MP3s back and forth and eventually get together. It's cool, 'cause I've done this with quite a few people now. I'm doing it with Tegan and Sara, with the New Pornographers, with Grant-Lee Phillips, Jill Sobule, Jon Brion - it's huge. There are a lot of songs - I think it's going to be a double or triple...
Apparently it took 80 minutes for Princeton's administration to send out campus-wide alerts that there was a gunman on campus. Although nothing actually happened, it did send the insular little Jersey town into a panic. The incident raises the question of whether Harvard's text message system will actually work in the event of an emergency, but hell, FlyBy likes Drew Faust's odds against a gunman any day. She'll be serving up a real nasty Republic of Suffering for you, wretched gun-bearer. Just...

Herbert Hoover raised taxes in 1932, and it further crippled the economy. The war-on-wealth rhetoric (Obama talks about punishing companies that send jobs overseas; Vice President Joe Biden said he wanted to throw CEOs "in the brig"; Senator Claire McCaskill referred to CEOs as "idiots") and policies of this Administration and the Democratic Congress are making it difficult to stabilize the stock market and much harder to get successful people to invest in American...
...attempt to police people's Web activity. Introduced by Sarkozy's Culture Minister, Christine Albanel, the bill seeks to enlist Internet service providers (ISPs), entertainment-industry organizations and French legal authorities in an effort to identify and dissuade illegal downloading of copyrighted music and video. A monitoring agency would send Web users who illegally download media a cease and desist notice. Should two warnings go unheeded, ISPs would be forced to cut Web access for one to 12 months - and add the user's name to a blacklist of pirates, where it would stay for the duration...
