...Junior Dance is the Senior fiancee meets unusual circumstances tonight. Realizing that 1920 is leap year we are lost in conjecture, wondering how the delicate feminine intuition will avail itself of this opportunity to usurp the masculine prerogative. In the lilt of a Strauss waltz or the sensuous rythm of a fox trot the Harvard undergraduate loses that abstraction which is so noticeable in the lecture hall. He will be engulfed, a little by the soft eyes and wavy tresses of some maid, and Harvard indifference will give way to a flush of crimson color...

...charmingly pictorial evocation of vague literary atmosphere, a mood induced by the tale rather than an essay dealing with it. The style suffers a little in places from the sort of poeticizing that marred Oscar Wilde's "Poems in Prose," but is one the whole graphic and full of sensuous charm. The first paragraph might have been written by Turgenieff, so vivid is it and so full of the very scent and rustle of a landscape...

The odd meter of "A Lover of Boston" exhibits as tenuous a sense of beauty as his lover's defence of Corey Hill sunsets as a mate for Italian evenings. By contrast in "Bhakata-Yoga" the questionably sensuous imagery veils and almost nullifies the philosophi conception...

...expect, from the introduction, some discussion of standard by which to value present day tendencies, but Mr. Sessions barely ventures on this dangerous ground, suggesting merely, in the course of the article, three critiria--a sensuous appeal, unity of conception, and a harmonic scheme that gives enjoyment. Instead he sets before us the radical, the conservative, and the partisan, counsels us to be none of them, and leaves us with excellent but vague advice. A "radical conservative" would, in all possibility, have ventured further...
