...Liber Studiorum" was designed and carried out by Turner between 1807 1819. He intended it to be an original work which would be a record of the variety and strength of his landscape painting. Turner made the drawings for the most part in sepia, etching only the main outlines. The work was then finished by an engraver under his supervision.
