Dache M. Reeves, captain in the Army Air Corps, will give a lecture entitled "From Da Vinci to the Wright Brothers" on Wednesday evening, February 28 at 8 o'clock in the auditorium of the Geographical Institute. ...First serial rights for North and South America went to United Feature Syndicate Inc., whose Syrian-Sheik General Manager Monte Bourjaily outbid King Features, Bell Syndicate, NANA, NEA. United Features promptly resold The Life of Our Lord to enough U. S. newspapers to avoid, giving first publication to a magazine. Book rights went to Simon & Schuster. The Life of Our Lord will start to appear in about 300 U. S. newspapers on March 5, continue in 13 installments of a little more than 1,000 words each. Had he published The Life of Our Lord in 1849, Charles Dickens would...
...succeeded in getting the Hinkel advertising, for which the Eagle claimed it had a contract. First reprisal of the Eagle was to print photographs of the interior of the Hinkel store, showing empty spaces at important counters, during a sale advertised exclusively in the Beacon. Author of The Great I Am, Lou Goldberg, promptly reminded Louis Levand that when Bonfils had published a serial, a rival paper had distributed free copies of the book. Although he appears...

One More River winds up the Charwell (pronounced Cherrell) saga neatly enough, though Author Galsworthy had the serial habit too strongly not to leave a few threads dangling. Better than its two predecessors (Maid in Waiting, Flowering Wilderness), it should remind even impatient critics of Galsworthy that, in the words of one of his characters, "he may be an old buffer, but he's a nice...
Tarzan the Fearless was originally intended to be the first four installments of a long Tarzan serial. Producer Sol Lesser thought so highly of his first chapters that he decided to release them at once. The picture shows Mary Brooks being kidnapped in the jungle, carried to a sordid cave where her father has already been incarcerated by a tribe of lecherous Arabians. A little ape tells Tarzan about this dastardly development. He rescues Mary first, then goes to aid her father and two other members of the party. The picture leaves Dr. Brooks (E. Alyn Warren) in danger...
