Leaving what now appears to me to be a mere molehill, we head off for a session in land navigation. We learn how to plot a route with a compass and a topographical map. We are then directed to find--as fast as we can--a set of checkpoints hidden in 50 acres of rolling hills, tree-dotted valleys and streambeds.
