Yesterday afternoon the Freshman football candidates were given a long practice on Soldiers Field. Seven teams were formed, and for an hour and a half were run through the more simple formations. At the same time extra linemen not on any of the seven teams were coached in breaking through, falling on the ball, and in running down under punts. No scrimmage, however, took place.
