Animal House has some sick, sexist jokes, no plot to speak of, and a largely unknown cast. But despite (or perhaps because of) these obstacles, it succeeds in a big way. To talk more about it would only serve to ruin some scenes for the prospective viewer, and they are worth seeing. But when you do go to see Animal House, and you should, just think for a minute where some of your hard-earned $3.75 is going. ...banality of evil in a high-faluting style, but overdid the banality a bit. He rants and demands and insults with all the consummate evil of Bella Lugosi and Martin Bormann fused; Kaye-Martin overplays his role just so much, just so much that despite his overkill in the sexist-megalomaniac-asshole department, the crowd still takes his character seriously, according his work with all of the hisses and spittoons given the villain in any old time movie...

...well go in the way of the 13th Amendment, which abolished slavery in name, but did little else to support the rights of blacks. The real progress of the women's rights movement in America has been, and will continue to be, agonizingly slow. We are still an outrageously sexist nation, and there are only minor signs of change, and the feminist movement has by and large collapsed into a rather bizarre disarray. Yet 100,000 people marched in Washington to show their support for women's rights, and millions more must surely realize the sensibility of sexual equality. Here...
