This new gift will create the only endowment here for the care of the grounds. During the past few years, under the direction of Professor R. T. Fisher '98, much has been done to restore the shade trees in the Yard and with shrubs and vines to beautify the college surroundings. The cost of this was met by gifts from individuals and graduate classes. Mrs. Blake's permanent fund will make it possible to continue this work and to supply the University buildings with an attractive setting...
...interpretation of the chorus is free from blemish--a great achievement for a group of amateurs, and still a greater for their trainer. It is again surely no reproach to point out that these students have not the wide range of light and shade, with subtly adapted tone-qualities and suggestions of emotional depth that have come to expect from the best choral societies and professional choruses. Baker '17, however, they will be opposed by the fastest of the University forwards and the best man in the forward line defensive game, respectively. T. H. Rice '17, with...

Yale's first goal, scored by Armour, was a lucky one, and their winning goal was the result of a brilliant individual dash by Van Nostrand, half a minute after the extra period started. On the whole, Princeton looks a shade stronger than Yale, with six veterans in the line-up: Ford, Scully, Humphreys, Schoen, Hills and Cushman. Comey, who was a substitute last year, is filling the place at coverpoint left open by the graduation of Peacock, last year's captain. Yale, however, has five veterans in York, Bierwirth, Murray...
...Harvard has a better kicking game than Yale, and Princeton's is a shade better than Harvard's. The Crimson and the Blue are both proficient in fundamentals, but Harvard's handling of the ball was better on Saturday than anything Yale or Princeton have done...
