...rate, the screaming, exhibitionistic type of swing fan who climbs all over the stand, swipes drumsticks, playfully pokes dents in a five hundred dollar horn, and otherwise makes himself knows is a really large headache, Nobody has any kick about the so-called "jitterbug" or shag dancing. A swing musician would have an awfully hard time justifying the sort of thing he plays and at the same time muttering dire things about the last moving shaggers. They have just reviewer prefers to do his track work outdoors, but that is pure laziness, son, pure laziness. I have but one criticism...

Almost before the candle fumes were cleared, the Boston musicians returned in white pea jackets, and were on their way to town with Composer Louis Gruenberg's modernistic jazz score, Daniel Jazz. Washingtonians liked the Marshall whoopee between the halves: Indian war dances, shag contests, crooners, swing bands and the intricate maneuvers of his 90-piece marching band. Most of all they liked the latest Marshall innovation: a rah-rah song, Hail to the Redskins, with music by Barnee Breeskin, band leader at the swank Shoreham Hotel, and words by one-time Cinemactress Corinne Griffith (Declasse, The Lady in Ermine), wife of Big Chief Marshall.
