In 1885 Daniel Frohman spotted him playing in Mona, took him into the Lyceum Stock Company where he became leading man and married the leading lady, Virginia Harned. They were divorced in 1910. ...always tell a Harvard man, so goes the old adage, but you cannot tell him much. For true erudition of this variety, Professor Kittredge knows no poor. Among these were Eleazar Dexter and his younger brother John who, though saints of a kind, still thought enough of the devil to fall in love. Both loved the same girl, but in different ways. Eleazar was a religious bigot who loved Anne in order...
...open the "ugly, big, heavy, bare, forbidding red brick factory," Edward of Wales arrived by plane, was announced by a Shakespearean blare of trumpets. He unlocked the doors with a golden key. Mr. Mellon unfurled the Stars & Stripes, H. R. H. the King's flag...
