...Generals' Shame Thank you for using the names Burma, Burmese and Rangoon [May 26]. Those names are precious to all democracy-loving people inside and outside the country. Myanmar, Myanmarese and Yangon are names that belong to the military junta and its followers, who have turned Burma upside down in the same way Hitler did with Germany in the '30s and '40s. Among other concerns, the city's Real Estate Board was worried that mandatory drills could lead to injuries that could lead to lawsuits. A lawsuit, then, is more frightening than a catastrophe, which is a shame. Because if a real disaster should come to pass, people will rise to the expectations set by their CEO or headwaiter, and they will follow their leader almost anywhere...
