Professor Harlow Shapley of the department of Astronomy will give the first of his series of eight lectures on modern astronomy this evening at 8 o'clock, at Huntington Hall, 491 Boylston street, Boston. The subject of this first lecture will be "The Problems of Modern Astronomy." The lectures, to be given Tuesday and Friday evenings in the Lowell Institute, are free and are open to the public, but by ticket only.
