Died. Mrs. Anne Ide Cockran, 68, longtime sharer of Robert Louis Stevenson's birthday; of pneumonia; in Manhattan. In 1891, ailing, child-loving Author Stevenson learned from the U.S. Land Commissioner on Samoa, Henry Clay Ide, that because his daughter Anne was born on Christmas, she never got any birthday presents.
