...staff unnecessarily politicizes a horrible death. The platform of the Republican party is unrelated to the killing of Matthew Shepherd. At a time of such tragedy, Shepherd's family would be best served by the nation's coming together to join them in mourning. Accusing Republican voters of homophobia and of somehow encouraging murder is not only a broad, hostile claim, but it is also false. This murder was the wrongful act of individuals, and they deserve to be severely punished...

Frank Sinatra's gardenia-laden casket was carried into Beverly Hills' Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday night for the vigil in advance of his funeral mass, scheduled for Wednesday, and burial later in a family plot near Palm Springs. The interment site at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City is where his mother, Natalie "Dolly" Sinatra, and father, Anthony Martin Sinatra, are buried. Sinatra was 82 when he died Thursday of heart failure...
