...Lahr and Miss Gray can smile a trifle sadly at Two on the Aisle. Its skits are the show's main virtue, and even some of them should work shorter hours. But Sketch Writers Comden & Green (On the Town) have really satiric minds, and at their best are very funny. Elliott Reid is funny, too, in a take-off of the Kefauver committee hearings. The music is all too thin, however; the dances are dullish, the production numbers mostly colorless. But thanks to its stars, a rather negligible revue still manages to be a very pleasant evening...

Nicholas Stacey of Oxford was the meet's other double winner with easy wins in the 220 and 440. Stacey won by four yards over teammate Jim Wilkinson in the shorter race, and an hour later ran away from Ed Grutzner in the stretch of the 440. Grutzner's 50.1 was a distinct disappointment...

...Shorter by 50 feet than the lean, 310-foot fleet "boats" of World War II, the new Tang-class subs looked like a cross between a whale and a shark. Gone was the familiar deck gun and the round conning tower, with its crest of periscopes, radar and radio masts. The decks of the new subs were clean and knife-narrow. Down the center reared a thick, sliced-off fin to house their twelve masts and the snorkel, which will enable them to run on engines instead of batteries at periscope depth. They had bow planes that whipped out automatically...

...Blows thrown with almost the same motion as that used by a softball pitcher. More spectacular-looking than the shorter, deadlier uppercut, the bolo is telegraphed by its windup, hence is not normally effective as a knockout punch...
