...Seniors' 20-yard line. After a short gain the Seniors punted and the ball was caught by Kelly in the centre of the field. He made a 20-yard run, but the Seniors regained the ball on downs. By straight rushes they advanced into Sophomores were penalized for off-side plays. The Seniors were checked on the 10-yard line, but gained first down, and pushed Burns over for a touchdown. He failed to kick the goal. For the rest of the half neither goal-line was threatened...

...HAVEN, CONN., Nov. 7--In a thirty-minute scrimmage this afternoon the University team scored twice on the second. The defence of the university eleven was weak, and the second gained consistently by centre plays. No forward passes were tried and line pushes and on side kicks were the principal plays used. There was considerable fumbling by both teams, and a strong wind prevented any effective punting. Biglow, Erwin, Brides and Alcott were given a rest today. Farley's crew caught the water first and within the first 200 yards gained a lead of one-half a length which they maintained until Harvard bridge was reached. On the other side of the bridge the second crew pulled up and the boats were even until within 100 yards of the finish. Here 1909 Freshman crew forged ahead with a well-timed spurt and won the race...
