...broad jump group is strong and deep, with Ohiri, Beckwith, Axikiwe, Sid Marland, and Al Albright. The pole vault, with Don Forte and Jay Mahaney, will still be weak. Armstrong in the javelin and Loern Clayman in the discus could be pleasant surprises, but have yet to prove themselves...
Actually the Crimson has a good collection of frontcourt men; they really hurt in the backcourt. Augustine is a hustler, but a poor outside shot. Sid Davis, who was dropped to the IV in mid-season, may provide the ball-handling the team has lacked for so long. Another returnee is Barry Dym, who was impressive in a few brief varsity appearances and shoots well from outside. The possible savior of the backcourt corps is Leo Sculley, captain of this year's freshmen, who according to reports is the best guard seen around here in years...
...romantic leads are just as good. Liz Fillo (Babe) and Jack Bates (Sid) have charming voices (yeah, I'm running out of adjectives): Miss Fillo, in "There Once Was A Man" is a lover for all times, and Mr. Bates can make even a doughnut song like "New Town" sound as if it were worth listening...
Other Crimson points should come from Art Doten in the weight, Sarge Nichols in the shot, Sid Marland and Marty Beck-with in the broad jump, Beckwith in the high jump, Kirkland and Lowell Davidson in the 600, Meeban in the 1000, and the mile relay squad...
