...recognize that many other students disrupt classes as well. Many of us are familiar with the sight of students streaking through lectures or final club punchees dragging kegs through classrooms. We believe that the choice to pursue disciplinary action against such pranksters should be left up to the professors whose rights have been infringed upon. In this instance, Mansfield made an effort to seek out Dean of the College Harry R. Lewis '68 and bring these events to his attention. We think disciplinary action in this case is entirely justified. Furthermore, the political nature of this disruption makes...
...enough, the acting is mostly passable. Leguizamo is convincing and amusing as a woman and thus as a drag queen, even if he has to be an ignorant, dizzy one. As a cross between June Cleaver and Liz Taylor, Swayze succeeds in his matron role. Snipes, however, is a sight gag. Leguizamo and Swayze are graceful and can pull off the drag queen bit, but Snipes looks like a big man in a dress. His obnoxious anti-Latino lines make his character relatively unattractive as well. Blythe Danner, in a small part as an odd local, is subtle and funny...

We cannot move forward if cynics and critics swoop down and pick apart anything that goes wrong to a point where we lose sight of what is right, decent and uniquely good about America...
That's true. Candido and his pregnant 17-year-old wife, decent folk down on their luck, huddle in a makeshift camp in the canyon and climb out every morning to find work at a labor exchange. But the sight of hungry Mexicans spooks Kyra's clients, and she sees to it that the exchange is shut. Delaney's liberal beliefs crumble, and he votes with other residents to build a wall, with a gate, around their development. The author, mistrusting his skill and the reader's acuteness, relentlessly flashes irony alerts. Candido gets work constructing the wall, knowing well...
...decision to go ahead with Senate Ruby Ridge hearings despite an Administration request to delay until its criminal investigation is complete "is both understandable and political," saysTIME's Elaine Shannon."As a presidential candidate, Specter of course wants to maximize his television exposure; but we shouldn't lose sight of the fact that this murky, deeply troubling incident has yet to be adequately investigated, and the Justice Department could be accused of stonewalling. Members of Congress are legitimately under pressure to examine this incident." Nonetheless, if the hearings are held this fall, many witnesses will likely cite the ongoing criminal...
