...Freshman football practice yesterday afternoon showed a decided improvement in nearly every department of the game. In the line-up which followed the preliminary signal work, both elevens exhibited a spirit and dash which has not appeared before. The backs started more quickly and every man seemed to get into the play. The first team formed a more compact interference and by superior team work scored two touchdowns and a safety. The second team, by very aggressive playing, almost secured a touchdown, but was held for downs on the 5 yard line...

...practice yesterday was snappy and the first eleven showed some improvement, but the second was again able to hold for downs. The ends and backs went through about 5 minutes of signal practice and were coached by Reid and Dibblee.
