...Crimson in its practice sessions this week will polish up its devastating passing attack that almost toppled Michigan and perfect its running plays. Yesterday in the signal drill more attention was also given over to laterals than has been for a long time. Indications are that even though the lateral pass has this year given way to the forward as Harvard's chief offensive threat it will be resurrected for the Eli clash. Last year it was the lateral attack that swept the Blue into submission and it may be that this year the same offensive might be used again...
...right end post, and it seems quite definite that he and Douglas will start Saturday at the wings. There were no other lineup changes; the backfield combination of Wood, Putnam, Devens and Harper, which made its debut against Florida, was working together again. A short but snappy signal drill concluded the afternoon's practice...
Prime U. S. button-presser is President Hoover. But last week the President could not oblige. In his stead Vice President Curtis did some button-pressing to flash a signal from Washington to Rhode Island. There a cannon boomed salutes. An airplane dropped noisemakers. U. S. In 1929 he was resentenced, served 53 days at the penal farm. Happy was he when, in 1925, the legislature passed...
Judging from the backfield which ran through signals yesterday, spectators in the Stadium will see a reorganized quartet in action. A combination which sprang into prominence on Tuesday was once again working together and it seems to be a pretty safe bet that it will start tomorrow. Wood was at quarter, while Putnam, erstwhile signal caller, was at left half. Devens and Harper completed this backfield. There is a good possibility that Mays, light but speedy Sophomore, will start, in which case he will replace Wood and Putnam will return to his regular berth...
