Dummy tackling was added to the usual routine yesterday. Fifteen minutes of signal practice followed, after which the regulars lined up against the second team for a short scrimmage in which the first team men had little difficulty in scoring. The substitutes, when sent in, did a good deal of fumbling and were consequently scored on by the seconds. Both regular and substitute ends have lately been receiving particular attention and are developing into fast and sure players...
...Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon was not as encouraging as it has been for the past few days. The work was light again, the coaches seeming to be anxious over the condition of a good many of the first string men. There was no scrimmaging during the afternoon and the signal drill and formations which were run through by the teams were much shorter than usual for mid-week practice. It now seems probable that scrimmages will be few and far between before the Dartmouth and Yale games, for there are no chances to be taken in getting the men overtrained...
