...ANGELES: After backing out of two previously scheduled interviews, O.J. Simpson has agreed to tell his side of the story to Black Entertainment Television tonight. "This interview is probably not a good idea for O.J.," says TIME's Patrick Cole from Los Angeles. "Money is probably driving this decision to some extent, but it is also Simpson's need to be liked. He's used to that, and is probably doing this to satisfy his ego more than anything else. The danger for him is that the tape will be watched very carefully. Meanwhile, Becker, who was paid what he calls a "not exorbitant'' five-figure fee, is valiantly defending his role in this dubious enterprise. Though he admits he had little time to prepare questions, he insists there were no restrictions on what he could ask (outside of four taboo areas: Simpson's kids, his finances, the upcoming civil trial and attorney-client discussions). The court has ruled that the transcripts can be released later...
...York Post reports today that Simpson's lawyers are expected to pin the gruesome crime on accused serial killer Glen Rogers. The Post says that Simpson's attorneys will argue that crimes committed by Rogers are similar to the Simpson/Goldman murders, and that Rogers, who painted a house a few doors from Mrs. Simpson's Brentwood condominium, was acquainted with, and even dated, Simpson's ex-wife. Police are discounting this theory...
