...Several successful European entrepreneurs are working on answers - and their novel approaches to issues such as room size and pricing could change the travel industry. One of these fledgling hoteliers is Sinclair Beecham, co-founder of the U.K.'s Pret A Manger sandwich-shop chain, who last autumn opened the 205-room Hoxton Hotel, which he calls an "urban lodge," in London. Urban lodge? Unlike a Shrager-inspired boutique hotel, where cool, sleek design often comes off cold, Hoxton Hotel has the homey comforts of a rural inn. Yet, says Beecham, "It's got concrete floors, exposed columns and exposed...

Holding, while fantastic in the main role, seems a slightly strange choice from a physical point of view: Lucie’s tiny size is repeatedly referenced, while Holding is one of the tallest members of the cast. While this adds to the unreal and stylized aspects of the play, it also causes some confusion, as the audience constantly forgets about this until it is reminded of the character’s size again. ...last piece in the collection, however—Neeta Madahar’s “Sustenance 104,” from the series “Sustenance” (2003)—is particularly puzzling. Its incongruence stands out not just because of its large size but also because of its subject matter. While the other works have some visible recognition of the artists’ descent, Madahar captures birds visiting feeders—in Framingham, Massachusetts, no less. While laudable that the exhibition brings together the diverse works of photographers in one forum, the common...

...side. It’s nice to see that the Loeb is not locked in purely to straight drama, but can also bring in dance, allowing dance the wider audiences that the location affords.' Cregg seems to be more interested in the merits of a performance than the size of its audience, however. She recalls her involvement in “Autobahn” as her favorite Harvard role. '"Autobahn" was my first chance to tackle something really challenging. I got to portray two very different characters, with very different personalities—one younger character getting manipulated...
