...Harvard has been known to let misfortune early in the game repeatedly plunge the team into impotence and the stands into gloom. The very opposite was evident Saturday. With the ball inside Harvard's 10-yard mark early in the first period, the team, instead of allowing discouragement to slacken its play, made a splendid brace and outplayed an almost perfect machine in practically every department of the game. Better yet, our cheering and singing was more determined than has ever been given to any Harvard team. We feel confident that the splendid support thus afforded went far toward giving...

...good effects of the week's practice. The trick formation from the toss-up worked well, and of the easy opportunities to score thus offered the University players took advantage. In passing and dribbling the work was fast and sure, while the defense was unusually strong. The tendency to slacken play towards the end, however, was still evident, as Princeton was able to score two baskets from the floor in the last three minutes. Captain Griffiths played the best game for the University, his fast work in dribbling and passing completely baffling Princeton's defense. Amberg played a strong game...

In passing and shooting the men were accurate and took advantage of every opportunity, while the defense remained strong. The team play excelled any so far this year, and in carrying...

...crew last Saturday over a course of three and seven-eighths miles the University crew, which started 12 seconds behind its opponent, was about a length and a half in the lead at the finish, opposite the Union boathouse. At the Longwood bridge the University crew was forced to slacken speed in order to allow the second crew to go through the draw, thus losing about four lengths. At this point the Freshman crew entered the race, but on account of the weakness of one of its members, withdrew a half-mile below Harvard bridge. The Freshmen were three-quarters...

...yesterday hardly kept up its good work of the day before, for two of the three touchdowns scored on the second were due to flukes rather than to actual gains by straight football. An excellent start was made, but toward the end of the practice the pace seemed to slacken somewhat, and the first eleven was several times forced to punt. In the last few minutes of play the eleven pulled itself together again and held the second for downs when the ball was within five yards of the University's goal line...
