...power dollar. And after the Ross formula works itself to its 40-year conclusion, the Government apparently will be almost ready to give its power away. Cried the Republican New York Herald Tribune: "Bonneville may be a yardstick to Mr. Ross. To the plain citizen its economics are just slapstick...
...found Oklahoma hearty (Ralph Bellamy) through the intricacies of "truckin'," singing prairie ballads in duo with him, listening to his tender homespun verse, with Jerry an amused and disturbing audience. As Lucy's life becomes more madly muddled, with three men complicating it, the comedy turns slapstick. Realizing the monotony, the producers evidently tried to inject humour in the form of Ted Healy and his face-pushing slapstick. Nevertheless, the murder is eventually solved, the diamond recovered, and Philip finds himself in Phyllis's arms. The two interests, humor and mystery, seem to get in each others' way throughout, frequently tripping up the action. Perhaps the one redeeming feature of the whole production is Elissa Landi, whose performance is good and beauty better...
