...Boss. Confidential's publisher, Robert Harrison, 51, would make a racy subject himself for an article in the magazine. A sleek-haired, gruff-talking showoff, Bachelor Harrison drives a white Cadillac, making the rounds of New York City nightclubs "wherever romance beckons me." Manhattan-born, Harrison started out in publishing after working as a writer for movie trade papers, bringing out such magazines as Beauty Parade, Wink, Titter and Flirt...
...themselves, superbly paced by director Glen Goldberg, were a constant delight. Jo Linch as the nervous, be fuddled Mrs. Price demonstrated a fine talent for slapstick, especially in a very funny cigarette-lighting episode. Sheila Tobias, in tight black suit and trenchcoat, seemed perfectly cut out to play the sleek female assassin, and only Jordan Jelks, as the urbane Mr. Price, failed to enter the whacky spirit of the occasion. As a sort of personification of the infinite possibilities offered by Paris in April, she burbles and bubbles over with joie de vivre. Next to her, even the sleek and well-tailored older woman of Elina Labourdette seems a bit lifeless, while Vernon Gray, the not-so-inexperienced son, almost appears to be wrapped in an English...
Worry Wart. As the championships got underway last week in Daytona Beach's Welch Municipal Pool, the sleek-muscled star of the Walter Reed Swim Club* had more reason to collapse than to set records. All night Shelley Mann (daughter of an electrical engineer) had lain awake worrying. Even the presence of Tommy, her good-luck Teddy bear, had not lulled her to sleep. In the morning, she ground out a fast 58.9-second qualifying dash for the 100-yd. freestyle. Later, she led her qualifying heat once again as she clocked 5:31.8 in the punishing...
