...practice of the University football squad yesterday afternoon was marked by energetic playing and was extremely encouraging. The absence of Captain Hurley, Oveson, Brill, Montgomery and Guild from the line-up, however, owing to slight injuries, somewhat weakened the opposing teams. The most noticeably good work in the scrimmage was done by Nichols, who played a fast, aggressive game at left halfback on the first.
