...University crews had their first work-out on the water at the Farragut Boat Club, Lynn, yesterday afternoon. This is the latest date in the history of University rowing for getting outdoors. The water was exceptionally smooth yesterday, and although there was a slight breeze, it made no material difference. Both A and B rowed for about 45 minutes, setting out with a slow stroke. Coaches Herrick and Haines directed the practice. If weather conditions permit, practice for these first two crews will be held outdoors today...

...verse contributions are much more numerous than the stories, but they are in general slight. Mr. B. P. Clark shows again his command of melody in the first two stanzas of his "Living Song," but here, as in his "Poplars," there is a falling off at the close. His "Yesterday and Tomorrow" is beyond me. I suppose he means to hint at the kindness of a woman and the unkindness of a man; but I fail to grasp the symbolism...

...summer camps. This is really a most unsatisfactory showing. If Harvard men would only stop to consider the inconvenience they cause the army officers organizing the camps, by enrolling at the last moment, they would probably enroll at Weld 3 immediately, even if this action might cause them the slight extra trouble of withdrawing their enrolment at a later date, should unforeseen events prohibit them from entering the camps this summer...
