Without Enthusiasm. Recent polls give Humphrey a slight lead in Michigan, Minnesota and Missouri. But most of the polls show him trailing Nixon. In state after state, the Humphrey machine is in disrepair, or nonexistent. In Texas, Humphrey does not even have a campaign manager.
