That probably wouldn't be the best slogan for Gary Hart, who also is attempting a return from the electoral netherworld. While Nixon resurrected himself by assiduously courting fellow Republicans and trying to make amends for past behavior, the "New Gary" is an entirely unrepentant fellow who didn't tell even his best friends that he was going to re-enter the fray. Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega Saavedra occasionally tries to reconcile his rhetoric with the spirit of the Guatemala accord, but the message is not always clear.
