...slight improvement has been made a batting, although the men are far from showing good form. In fielding the work has been poor. The men are still slow and uncertain in fielding ground balls and are inaccurate in throwing to first base. In running to bases little ability has been shown. At sliding bases, however, the work has been fast and satisfactory. The pitchers have been especially coached in controlling their throws, but have not evinced any decided improvements in this respect. Every day in the week except Saturday candidates for the University and class crews are rowing regularly in the tank and on the machines with individual instruction from Coach Wray. The men at present are not progressing favorably and seem slow in grasping the fundamental ideas. Lately the development of team play has been slow on account of injuries to Snyder, Griffith and Murray, who have been unable to play for the last two weeks. These men, however, will be in the line-up tonight...
