Frank McCarthy came as an actor to make his debut in Slave, and has starred in Birdbath and Death of Bessie Smith since then. Gus Johnson, who was well received at the Atma in Slave and Dutchman, is one of the few actors to leave the theatre, going to the Seattle (Wash.) Repertory Company.
