Harvard II; Marlboro 3.The Harvard team showed a material improvement yesterday afternoon in the game with Marlboro. Every man on the nine had snap and life, and as a rule paid attention to his business. There were one or two exhibitions which ought not to be repeated. The game was essentially a pitcher's game, and the fact that Bates struck out ten men during the five innings he was in the box is worthy of especial notice. Downer pitched the last innings in good form. The game showed that either Harvard is playing better or that Marlboro...

...since four years ago has a freshman nine succeeded in defeating Yale in both games, and the work of Ninety-three, therefore, shows up all the more brilliantly by contrast. In regard to the contest itself, the men could not have done better. They played with any amount of snap and had the game well in hand from the start. In the field the men interfered with each other, and the wonder was that more errors were not made. The score...

...Wollastons defeated the Freshmen Saturday on Norton,s field. The game was by far the best the Freshmen have played this season: still the playing of the team as a whole is sleepy. There is not anything like enough snap and vim in their work. and the coaching is very poor. Waters, a new man, was tried in left field, and covered his ground well, accepting four difficult chances. Stone also played well, making some very pretty throws. For the Wollastons, outside the battery Wood and Grant did the best work, making two double plays. The score was as follows...
