Phillips Brooks House has received many urgent calls for college men to do social service work at the various churches and settlement houses in Boston and Cambridge. Many of these calls present rare opportunities to men who like the work. Today marks the close of the annual campaign to secure contributions for Phillips Brooks House. Although the collection has been fairly successful so far, much remains to be done. In place of the usual social service work, this institution will act as a Y. M. C. A. for the training corps. Its building is not only well equipped with writing and reading rooms, but it is also the best and most convenient place for students to meet and receive their families or friends.
