Even the most recalcitrant whites are likely to accept social integration at a faster rate if they gain far more than they lose in the process. One idea should certainly be tried out in the hundreds of lower-middle-class schools that are now in many ways just as inferior as those in black ghettos; these schools should be upgraded while being integrated.
