...hoped that the new track will be in condition before the 24th, but if such should not be the case the meeting will still be held, probably on the old track on Jarvis field. Freshmen are advised to practice on the earth track on Jarvis or on the sod any or every day before four o'clock, when the foot-ball team begins its practice. ...three weeks it is believed the track will be completed. Care ought to be used when crossing the field to go on the boards which will be laid, and not on the newly leveled ground, for several hundreds of dollars have been expended on it, and unless a sod is formed before next spring the place will become hardened and a mere dust pan.
