...close game at Brockton, Saturday afternoon, the cricket team was defeated by Brockton C. C. by the score of 49 to 44. Harvard went to bat first on an extremely soft wicket, and, although Lowry and Murray both made creditable stands, scored only 44 runs. When Brockton came to bat the condition of the ground had improved, but the wickets continued to fall at short intervals. Yesterday the track team used the new track on Soldiers Field for the first time. The ground was too soft for jumping on account of the rain, but the running and weight work were carried on as usual. Having been built a year ago last August this track is now thoroughly packed, and with use it will become fully as good as the old track on Holmes Field. An effort is being made to arrange the finishing points of several of the events at one place, so that the system of distance marks may be less complicated than that...

...first public performance of the Pi Eta play was given very successfully last night. The music was catchy where catchy music was needed and soft and harmonious where such music was appropriate. The singing of the choruses was decidedly good, but their acting showed a lack of training. Especially attractive were the songs: "Private Brown," sung by J. M. Ross '01, and "It's Very Very Funny but it's So," sung by T. Stensland 2L., and the cake walk dancing of W. H. Taylor...
