...University cricket team was badly defeated by Haverford at Haverford on Friday by the score of 306 to 59. The defeat was due to the greatly superior batting and fielding of the Haverford team, and also to Harvard's unfamiliarity with a hard turf wicker, after practice on a softer cocoa-matting wicket. Haverford caught out seven of the University team, and both Bonbright and Hopkins scored centuries, not out. For Harvard, F. C. Taylor did the best bowling, and King scored the most runs. ...Saint-Saens concerto for violoncello and orchestra (A minor op. 33), Mr. Rudolf Krasselt scored a decided triumph as soloist in the third Symphony concert last night at Sanders Theatre. His performance was splendidly rendered, and the softer and less brilliant passages were played with delicacy of phrasing and graceful feeling. It was to be regretted that the composition did not permit him to show more than his brilliant technique. All the pieces were played with very good expression and showed a finished style, which could only have been attained by long and careful practice.
