...This trade is a trade in murder!" rasped Major Clement Richard Attlee, presenting Labor's motion. "Armament companies, while not the sole nor the greatest cause of war, deliberately work against peace and disarmament. Take Vickers [Britain's No. 1 armorers]. In 1932 Vickers advertised its wares in German papers-weapons forbidden to Germany by the Treaty of Versailles! And who made the anarchy in China? ...erratic from the start. From early childhood, he says, his life was dominated by a besetting neurotic sin. He calls it sadism but from the many examples he gives it sounds more like the peeping passion. Last summer Sidney Freeman Jr. went along, watched his father trade $100,000 cash for Epsom Derby lottery tickets which won some $225,000 (TIME, June 18). After that lesson Sidney...

However, the first district is in the eastern, mountainous portion of the State; Candidate Reece happens to be a Republican Congressman. It was grim news to Mr. Fletcher. No blunders by his opponents could help him much...
