...RIDICULOUS tramples victoriously over the sublime in Kirkland House Drama Society's production of Gian-Carlo Menotti's serious The Medium followed by P.D.Q. Bach's rollicking The Stoned Guest. It is simply impossible to come away from this dual presentation pondering the somber thoughts of The Medium when these dark thoughts are washed over with light P.D.Q. mockery. Although Peter Schickele (P.D.Q. Bach) might have revelled in this jocular juxtaposition, Menotti would doubtless have been displeased...
...thorough inspection could be completed. The fate of the Alexander Kielland also gave pause to other governments drilling in the area. Calling for a re-examination of offshore oil safety laws, British Energy Secretary David Howell grimly told the House of Commons: "What has happened now is a somber warning of the appallingly dangerous conditions under which people work in the North Sea." For the crew of the Alexander Kielland, that warning came too late...

Said he: "My approach is immediate. I try to maintain that first quick impression, that first quick look...

Television announcers were instructed to acquire appropriately dark suits. For three days, radio stations played only somber music, but then relaxed somewhat. Newspapers published the best-known utterances from Tito's 35-year rule, almost as though they were already posthumous...
Unfortunately it is not. After a brisk 20 minutes, the movie loses its assurance and sense of purpose. Indeed, Jay Presson Allen's screenplay reels around like a drunken sailor. From moment to moment, Just Tell Me is a somber and confusingly plotted story of corporate power struggles, a syrupy account of a love triangle, and a sloppy satire of show business-rather like Lumet's Network. There are still some bright moments, but they are separated by flaccid, poorly connected scenes that go nowhere at great length...
