...which sucks. (As an aside: we at FlyBy think interhouse dining rules are the best real-life example of what Mankiw taught you in Ec 10 about the evils of trade restrictions. So far Lowell, Adams, Kirkland, Winthrop, Leverett, Eliot and Quincy have rules keeping people out. If you somehow manage to have friends in the 11/12 of Harvard that doesn't live in your house, you're screwed when 6 p.m. rolls around. Who gains from this insanity? No one. Everybody loses because of a few vocal protectionists. Open the dining hall borders today...

Paul Rudd doesn't seem like a leading man until you remember that some men star in movies with other men. Bob Hope didn't beat up criminals or woo ladies, and likewise, Rudd, who at 5 ft. 10 somehow projects 5 ft. 6, has found the perfect expression of his charming, nonthreatening slyness in the buddy comedy. After playing a lot of leading men's friends (The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up) and nice guys embraced by leading women after they've come to their senses (Friends, Clueless), Rudd has graduated to playing the lead...

...need all the hands of the students in my Developmental Psych lecture (hint: it’s held in Friend 101, and people sit on the floor) to tally up the opposite grievance. What makes the boys think they’re any better than we are?  Somehow — maybe not surprisingly — female attractiveness has been put under the microscope far more. Is the fairer sex more forgiving, or are boys here more attractive than girls? Or does it just not matter as much...
