...Goyer says. “The whole idea of vampirism being a type of sexually transmitted disease always struck me as interesting, but I never understood why vampires never seemed to have fun. In the Blade films I try not to idolize them, but I do make them somewhat enviable: they wear the best clothes, live in the nicest places, and have access to everything they could ever want...

...wine country organized to make the most of Jack’s last days of bachelorhood. The trip in Miles’ mind is about tasting great wines and in Jack’s is about getting laid as much as possible before marriage shuts him down. Despite their somewhat incredible friendship—they have completely opposing interests, outlooks and goals—the acting is exceptional and Giamatti and Church exude a chemistry that makes their friendship believable and oddly charming. But sadly, the movie is ultimately worthwhile only for its fine performances. Sideways’s structure...

...executed them well—this is a much more interesting album the second time through, especially when listened to with good headphones able to catch the arpeggios that add nuance and subtlety. Nonetheless, I still can’t help feeling that this album is somewhat derivative. Maybe this band will surprise us with its sophomore effort and head into uncharted territory, but so far they fail to play anything truly innovative or head-turning. One look at the strikingly well-done CD cover depicting various scenes of the sky grants the sense that SLD may have a little...
