...from the Wolfe papers, along another aisle, five massive editions of the Tibetan scipture, the Tripitaka, lie wrapped with yellow burlap covers. This great work is a sort of Tibetan wonder book, combining holy writ with popular ideas on political and natural science. On the outside of each volume in addition to the insciption in the inscrutable and original Tibetan, are a number of small swatches of brilliantly colored, oriental cloth, which carry some mystic meaning to the rare cognoscentus...

Yet he somehow makes physics a sort of cosmic cooking course that can fascinate anyone. White's secret is superb preparation: he spends twelve hours every day writing the script, building laboratory props and rehearsing with a 21-man crew. The preparation has to be right; a faulty wire can delay an entire day's lesson...
...Hollyfied at Claimant Golightly's "presumption.'' Capote tongue-lashed back: "I have never met nor seen this lady . . . It's ridiculous for her to claim she is my Holly. I understand she's a large girl nearly 40 years old. Why. it's sort of like Joan Crawford saying she's Lolita...
