Prof. Norton delivered in Sanders Theatre last evening a very interesting lecture on this subject, illustrated by stereopticon views. Assos is situated southward from the Troad in Asia Minor upon the bay of Adramyttion, opposite the island of Lesbos. Mr. Clarke and Mr. Bacon were fixed upon by the Archaeological Institute to direct the expedition, and with half a dozen volunteers have been upon the spot since last April, with remarkable success.
